Mammaplasty means reconstruction of breast. It can be augmentation,
reduction & reconstruction. In augmentation small sized
breasts are enlarged in size by introducing silicon prosthesis,
derma fat graft etc after creating a pocket behind the breast.
By reduction mammaplasty large and ptosis of (sagged down)
breasts are reduced to normal and good looking size. Nipple
and areola are also brought to normal position. Reconstruction
of breast is usually required after total excision of breast
(mammaplasty). It is done by rotation and transfer of skin
and muscle flaps from other areas of body.
